About

The class 1550 is a series of 19 diesel-electric locomotives built for the Portuguese Railways (CP). They entered service in 1973 and were built in Canada by Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW). The locomotives are MLW's type MX 620 design. The HO, 1:87, scale model was designed and built by Modelling Centre II. Basic material is photo-etched (brass) metal. Decals were designed and printed in the relevant colorings. Enjoy a photographic tour of the construction phases: from the initial "paper" model to the final product packed in its custom design wooden box.
